Clever.  Very clever.

The feature debut of Australian filmmaking brothers, Colin and Cameron Cairnes, 100 Bloody Acres tells the twisted tale of an organic fertilizer business that experiences increased sales when its owners stumble across a “secret ingredient” - one that’s processed through a meat grinder - that   really   helps their fertilizer to fertilize.

In 1979, prototypes for 3 ¾” action figures for Ridley Scott's Alien were developed but never manufactured. Through Super 7's industry and collector contacts, the company unearthed reference material and original 34-year-old prototypes and will now make these “lost toys” a reality.

Under authorization from 20th Century Fox, Super7 will produce the full series of Alien toys as part of its ReAction Figure Series (Retro-Action).  Each is stylized exactly as items from the “golden age” of action figures with approximately five points of articulation, accessories, and period-authentic blister card packaging.

Super7 will offer four different Alien ReAction Figure exclusives at San Diego Comic Con.  The following will be available at Super7 booth #5245.

Jovovich Seems to Think Resident Evil 6 Will Arrive in 2015

News

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Earlier this year, Sony/Screen Gems staked out a date for the sixth installment in the Resident Evil franchise.  The plan was to get it in theaters by September 12, 2014.  When we caught wind of this news, we had it confirmed.  But there was just one problem: Director Paul W.S. Anderson is embarking on a film called Pompeii this year which is due to open February 12, 2014.

If Anderson was in fact going to have a sixth Resident Evil film ready for September 2014, he'd have to begin shooting by the end of this year (this is going based on the shooting schedules of the previous films).  He may be a bit too busy on Pompeii to make that happen.  His wife, and Resident Evil series star, Milla Jovovich, recently took to Twitter to back some of this up.

Interview: Guillermo del Toro from the Set Of Pacific Rim

News

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Back in March 2012, very few people knew much about Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming project Pacific Rim except that it involved giant monsters, giant robots (or, shall we say, "mechs") and the director of such great horror and action (and sometimes horror/action) classics as the Hellboy movies, Blade II, Pan’s Labyrinth, Mimic and more. It would also be Del Toro’s first movie as a director in five years having spent that time developing other movies like The Hobbit and At the Mountains of Madness - both of which didn’t pan out.

Peter Jackson and H.P. Lovecraft’s loss is our gain, because the idea of Guillermo making a giant monster movie is almost literally every giant monster movie fanboy’s wettest dream since Guillermo has been involved with some of the coolest and craziest horror movies released in the past 20 years. (Not many people have realized or mentioned this, but 2013 also marks the 20th Anniversary of his feature directorial debut, the Spanish vampire movie Cronos.)
